Just in case you are wondering, there is a longer version out there that shows one of the guys carrying a rifle from one of the cars into the field and dropping it on the ground. That is what confirmed that they were bad guys. This version of the video starts after that occurred. _________________

That is true. To muck talk in that one for me though. It is a given that they spent forever deciding to attack those losers. Our Rules of engagement are crazy. _________________

True the ROE are very tight over there. There is another video showing a column of Taliban marching in a wadi at night with all sorts of weapons and they go on observing them for a good 5-10 minutes before actually engaging them because when they first spotted them they were only 200 meters from a house and they didnt want any collateral damage.
I mean when you consider how close the grouping of shots are on the first video above and then think about leaving 400 meters of buffer arround them, well it seems a bit much. They didnt call in a missle, it was all 30 mm.
Good news is they got the whole group which numbered over 30.
Murdoc, what amazes me is the way they can see in the night with FLIR. There is no hiding from it.
I sit and wonder about the news reports we see over here. The only things we hear in the media are X number of people were killed today by an IED or we might have killed 6 civilians by a smart bomb (or maybe it was a Taliban bomb). The best you hear is that Pakistan caputured some high ranking Taliban.
It is almost like the news media doesnt want to report anything good. Take for instance Operation Moshtarak. There has been no major reporting on that operation. If you dig into it, it has gone very well. The news media only seems to want to report when some US or Brit soldiers are killed in a helicopter crash. I guess "things are going well" doesnt sell. _________________

So true about the media. No news is good news as far as the war goes if they are not talking about it then it is going well. Talk about a change from WWII eh? _________________
